Haflah (Arabic for party)The Belly Belles hold a Haflah at least once a year, and have been doing so for about 8 years, this is a great chance for the students to show their friends and families, their new found skill of belly dancing. It's also an opportunity for the students to meet other Belly dancers and indulge in their passion for the dance, the music and the beautiful costumes being worn on the night! As well as performances by the Belly Belles Egyptian Dance Group, we usually have guest dancers and musicians to entertain us. A popular guest to our Haflah's are the Drum Circles, these being the Baobab Jungle, Steve Ball from Jazzexplorium and the Bishops Stortford Drum Circle. New for 2010, we have Adam Amor and his Saxaphone, entertaining us with music from Arabia and Greece. We were also very lucky to have Efua Sey Cultural Academy Limited (African drum and Dance group) at the 2011 Haflah in Ware. During the evening we hold a raffle, we also have a mini Bazaar selling all things nice, a licensed bar, and a chance to dance the night away with the disco which follows after the dance performances. All in all a great night, full of lots of fun and laughter, often called the 'night of a thousand smiles'!!!!
