Workshop with Anne White - May 15, 2010
At
least once a year Belly Belles host an Egyptian Dance workshop with a
guest teacher, this year it was the lovely Anne White from London. Anne
has been teaching and dancing for over 20 years, and holds regular
Belly Dance Show case nights at Planet Egypt in London.
This
years workshop was all about Classical veils and a little on Taqasim.
We all had a wonderful afternoon with lots of fun and laughter. The
workshop was very informative and I am sure we will see some of the new
moves included in Samirah's new routines.
Ashlyns Care Home fete, Harlow - May 11, 2010
After
dancing at Ashlyns earlier in the year, the entertainments manager
invited us back to dance at their summer fete which is held in the car
park of the Home, what a lovely time we all had, and as you can see we
had a couple of new recruits join us in the dancing (see if you can spot
the 2 men in the photo) it was a very funny time.
The elderly residents and thier families, friends and neighbours all thoughly enjoyed themselves.
Stortford Music Festival - May 2, 2010
Once
again we were invited to dance at the Stortford Music Festival in
Bishops Stortford. It was a wet and cold Sunday but that didnt stop us,
or the thousands of visitors it attracts from coming out. We nearly
re-named ourselves the Welly Belles! We pulled a fantastic crowd again!
and after the performance we went on to enjoy the other acts and took it
easy in the chill out tent. Fantastic event as usual.
