A trained Cognitive Stimulation Therapist for those with Dementia, a Dementia Friend Champion, a trained 'Move it or Lose it' chair based exercise instructor and a Circle Dance for Dementia facilitator. Here we provide entertainment with our wonderful Egyptian dance displays. Often the support workers and carers get up and dance with us, as well as the able bodied residents. Those residents in wheelchairs or the less able, are encouraged to clap or wave scarves and veils. We have found that the residents thoroughly enjoy their time with us, often commenting on the gorgeous colours in the costumes and accessories, as well as how beautiful the Arabian music is. Samirah usually brings 1 or 2 Belly Belles students with her to these events, to add to the experience. Day Centres can be for the elderley or adults with learning disabilities. Perfect for the elderley as it requires less stamina. ![]() Chair aerobic exercises usually consist of the rhythmic movements of arms and feet, performed by sitting in a chair in an erect position. It is ideal to perform the exercise for 20-30 minutes, on a regular basis. Chair aerobics helps you perform your daily chores energetically, because it helps build the functional capacity of your body. Moreover, they are very low intensity workouts, which make them easy to perform anytime you want, during the day. All you need is a comfortable chair and a peaceful atmosphere, to do the exercise, and so, Samirah will encourage residents to perfom the chair aerobics through out the week in their own time as well as with her on a weekly basis.
